Pig Iron goes in as raw material, which is low in phosphorus and sulphur, that is imperative without which the desired product cannot be achieved. While tin and copper added provides tensile strength and ability to withstand shock, silicon helps in the formation of graphite which offers iron the much needed non-corrosive property.
