Grey cast iron predates most materials used for casting. They have excellent foundry properties, and by continuously improving production technology, grey cast iron has also achieved appropriate utility properties, thanks to technical innovation and working efficiency of castings. Here are some of the products made of grey cast iron and its application:

  1. Hubless Pipes:  Hubless pipes are generally used for exposed, above ground pipe systems, in addition to being a less bulky system within wall confinements, etc.
  2. Centrifugal Pipes: This is the default standard for discharge of waste and rainwater. Longevity is ensured by painting the pipes with black paint on the interior and red primer on the exterior to guard it against corrosion weather.
  3. Soil Pipes: Soil pipes are used for discharge of waste and rainwater from where it is installed and offers excellent resistance against harsh weather conditions.
  4. Gratings: Gratings over air vents or drains are applicable as filters to block out larger particles (including leaves) whilst it can allow smaller particles to pass through it.
  5. Valve boxes: An enclosure-like design offers a safe environment for many sensitive components including irrigation systems and electrical parts among several others.
  6. Manholes: Highly durable ensuring safety that could support a range of loads from two-wheelers to heavy duty lorries and trucks. Perfect for decorative finishes, in addition to ease of utility access.
  7. Industrial: They are applicable for several industries including automobile, agriculture, power sectors, etc. These products are produced using both hand as well as machine moulding methods.
  8. Ornaments: Grey cast iron can withstand severe climatic conditions and they’re useful in making some of the finest ornamental's in the marketplace.
