The casting process has been around for several centuries, yet this question pops up time to time. At VR Foundries too, we ask this question. Do you think you can make every little thing as a casting? Well, if it is true, then there are almost a dozen ways to go about it at VR Foundries. We collect as many inputs we can from the client about the job and the required outcome, and if found suitable as a casting, we will come out with the best casting solution, and quote recommended tooling. As simple as that!
It can be hard to believe the fact that molten cast iron that is poured like water can turn into a versatile and robust material when solidified. This process, over and above, is carried out in a black box of sand. That is why castings form an excellent option. We make quite a lot of dramatic and innovative features and shapes which are economical and cost–effective compared to all other processes. We use 3D modeling for good looking and smooth flowing designs, in addition to solidification modeling. The tools make short work of the design process, collaboration with our clients easier and to visualize what is happening in the black box.
Demerits of fabrication:
How often have you felt that fabrication seems like a cluster of building blocks put together? In addition to looking blocky, welding exposes potentially vulnerable points and there, of course, you need to factor in directional properties. Castings not only lend you a great–looking part, but get rids of welding clutter completely and possesses isotropic properties (almost the same properties in every direction).
