Differences between the process of Shot Blasting and Sand Blasting:
One of the primary differences between the processes of shot blasting and sandblasting is that in shot blasting throwing wheel is used, whereas in the sandblasting process, generally compressed air is utilised.
Shot Blasting: Abrasive is given acceleration via the throwing wheel, which turns in a steel housing, having a one-sided, oriented opening. Shot blasting is applicable for welded constructions, different profiles and blasting metals.
Sand Blasting: This process involves the dosing of the abrasive particles in a stream of compressed air and is given rapid acceleration in the outflow via the blasting nozzle. The process of sandblasting is applicable in the blast cabinets and blast rooms.
