What Are The Differences Between Weldments and Castings? Why is Casting performances superior?
1 Control Over Material Shape:Because a casting is not limited like an assembly or weldment by setting things off with raw material shapes. You can put the material where it’s required in certain areas of high stress and minimize the material in areas where it’s required. This capability provides excellent control to the industrious engineer,… Continue reading What Are The Differences Between Weldments and Castings? Why is Casting performances superior?
How Are Green Sand Moulds Made?
The previous blog was a primer on Green Sand Moulds. A green sand mould is made by pouring green sand into a mould maker and then a pattern is pressed into the sand. The pressure that is formed when the mould is pressed into the sand creates a form close to when a kid presses… Continue reading How Are Green Sand Moulds Made?
What Are Green Sand Castings?
Green Sand castings are castings that are made of green sand moulds or wet sand. Don’t be surprised if we tell you that the sand is neither green in colour nor the mould uses any greensand or greenish colour sandstone. Rather, the sand is termed ‘green’ because of the moisture content present in it such as green wood before the sand dries out when molten material is poured into a mould.
Differences between Sand Casting and Permanent Mould Casting
Whether you need Sand casting or Permanent Mould casting depends on your industry application. This blog will cover some of the salient features that differentiate Sand Casting and Permanent Mould Casting.

hope by now you may have understood that aluminium is cast. If you need to create an aluminium casting, you should first develop a mould of the part that is to be created. The mould is formed using sand as the moulding material and the pattern is then pushed into it which leaves the impression of the part that is to be cast.
A Brief Note on the Technical Differences Between Iron Castings and Steel Castings
Both Iron castings as well as Steel castings has its own industry applications in a number of verticals. But technically there are a lot of factors that differentiate Iron Castings from Steel Castings. This short blog brings you the technical differences between Iron castings and steel castings: Carbon concentration in steel is uniform however much… Continue reading A Brief Note on the Technical Differences Between Iron Castings and Steel Castings
Is it Required That Grey Iron Castings be Stress Relieved?
There’re some suppliers that don’t stress relieve grey iron castings, and there are some that do. The advantages of stress relieving castings: various cooling rates in various castings after they are released out of the mould (owing to complex geometry with different thicknesses, geometry curvatures/surface, thin sections, etc). After a period of time—usually from several… Continue reading Is it Required That Grey Iron Castings be Stress Relieved?
