Mini Guide: Ductile Iron Casting Basics – Part 1
Ductile Iron, also called ductile cast iron or spheroidal graphite iron, is a cast iron type typically rich in graphite content. Ductile iron exhibits greater fatigue resistance due to its nodular structure. The application of ductile iron is diverse, including automobiles and water lines. Therefore, ductile iron is very popular among industrial manufacturers. Before we… Continue reading Mini Guide: Ductile Iron Casting Basics – Part 1
A brief note on Casting Techniques: Sand Casting & Die Casting
Casting is one of the oldest manufacturing techniques. However, there are several modern advancements in technology that have resulted in a number of casting techniques and methods.
What Are Green Sand Castings?
Green Sand castings are castings that are made of green sand moulds or wet sand. Don’t be surprised if we tell you that the sand is neither green in colour nor the mould uses any greensand or greenish colour sandstone. Rather, the sand is termed ‘green’ because of the moisture content present in it such as green wood before the sand dries out when molten material is poured into a mould.
Differences between Sand Casting and Permanent Mould Casting
Whether you need Sand casting or Permanent Mould casting depends on your industry application. This blog will cover some of the salient features that differentiate Sand Casting and Permanent Mould Casting.
